ACT Family Specialist Support Call

The ACT Family Specialist Support Call is intended for current ACT family specialists, and will be held on the Third Wednesday of the month from 3 PM- 4 PM. This call will provide an open forum for ACT family specialsits to share role-related successes and challenges, and collaboratively ask and answer questions that arise. Helle Thorning, Director of the ACT Institute will facilitate these calls. This call will be held in the Adobe Room, and Family Specialists will receive joining information prior to each call.

ACT Psychiatrist and Nurse (Prescriber) Support Call

The ACT Prescriber Support Call is intended for current ACT Psychiatric Providers, Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, and will be held on the Fourth Thursday of the month from 10:15 AM- 11:15 AM. This call will provide an open forum for ACT prescribers to share role-related successes and challenges, and collaboratively ask and answer questions that arise. This call will be held in the Adobe Room, and joining information will be distributed prior to each call.

25 May 2018 ACT: SUS and Team Leader Wrap Up 5/25/2018 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

When: Friday, May 25, 2017 from 10AM-4PM 

Description (ACT Team Leaders and Substance Use Specialists Only):

This yearlong training seeks to enhance and strengthen substance use specialists (SUS) in the implementation of dual recovery treatment on ACT teams. Training is targeted to SUS new to the ACT model as well as those who currently are working on an ACT team. The training uses a blended learning curriculum consisting of face-to-face and online meetings geared toward skill building, problem solving and collaboration. Upon completion of the training SUS/IDDT Specialists will be able to earn Social Work, CASAC, or LMHC continuing education credits. 

Learning Objectives are:

  • SUS will be able to describe their role on the ACT Team.
  • SUS will understand and apply harm reduction principles.
  • SUS will demonstrate how to screen and assess for dual diagnosis/co-occurring challenges.
  • SUS will identify and interpret a consumer's stage of change and provide appropriate stage-based treatment.
  • SUS will demonstrate basic Motivational Interviewing skills.

ACT Peer Specialist Scope of Practice Workgroup

The Peer Specialist Scope of Practice Work Group meets once monthly with the goal of developing a scope of practice for Peer Specialists on ACT Teams.  This meeting brings together current Peer Specialists, Team Leaders, administrators and The ACT Institute to discuss various aspects of Peers on ACT Teams.  Work group members will receive joining information via email prior to each call.
