The mission of the National Empowerment Center Inc. is to carry a message of recovery, empowerment, hope and healing to people who have been labeled with mental illness. We carry that message with authority because we are a consumer/survivor/expatient-run organization and each of us is living a personal journey of recovery and empowerment.

CMHS Programs: Toolkit - Assertive Community Treatment Evidence-Based Practice KIT 
Provides tools to implement the evidence-based practices of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), which offers customized, community-based services for people with mental illness. Includes DVD, CD-ROM, brochures in English and Spanish, and PowerPoint presentation.

NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness | Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
A goal of NAMI is to make high quality ACT teams available to all who need them and to educate others about the effectiveness of this model.  On this page you will find many different documents about ACT -- an effective, evidence-based, outreach-oriented, service delivery model for people with severe and persistent mental illnesses. 

UPenn Collaborative on Community Integration
Funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), this five-year project is the first of its kind to focus on community integration of people with psychiatric disabilities. 

Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center
The PRC specializes in developing effective interventions under research conditions, then translating these interventions into actual mental health service practices and evaluating their effectiveness in routine practice settings.
