CPI NewsBrief: Newly Updated C-SSRS Module is Now Available: The Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) - A Tool to Detect and Assess Suicidal Risk

The C-SSRS is a standardized tool used to identify information about a client or individual’s suicidal risk.

  • It provides structured questions about a client’s suicidal ideation and behavior to help mental health professionals detect whether someone is at risk for suicide and assess the severity of this risk.
  •  After the C-SSRS is conducted, it can be used to guide a clinician’s overall risk assessment, so that appropriate next steps for treatment can be made.

CPI NewsBrief: Three New NYC Thrive Modules Now Available on CPI’s Website: How to Help Provide Self-Care and Stress Management, Introduction to Problem Solving Skills Development, and Community Care

These modules were created through a collaboration between the Center for Practice Innovations and New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Thrive Initiative. They are designed for community members and include video vignettes, interactive exercises, practice opportunities and helpful worksheets.

How to Help Provide Self-Care and Stress Management

This resource is designed to provide the community member guidance on how to help people in the community to better manage their stress and improve their well-being. 

IMHATT Program Completion List

Access a list of OMH-licensed programs where at least one staff person has earned an Integrated Mental Health Mental Health/Addictions Treatment Training (IMHATT) certificate. People earn an IMHATT certificate after completing 29 online training modules that include basic, intermediate, and advanced skills in integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders including tobacco dependence.

CPI NewsBrief: Luis Lopez Named CPI’s Director of Special Projects

We are pleased to announce that Luis O. Lopez, M.A., M.S., Coordinator for Fidelity and Best Practices at CPI’s ACT Institute, has been named CPI’s Director of Special Projects. In this role, he will focus on emerging opportunities to engage the larger behavioral health community in New York State. His unique ability to understand current and evolving challenges experienced by the behavioral health workforce will allow CPI to stay up to date and relevant in all our training and implementation support activities across initiatives. He will also continue his important work with the ACT Institute.

 

Catalogues Are Now Available for CPI's Learning Management System and Website Consumer Portal

The Online Module Catalogue lists and provides information about 90+ online modules that are currently found in our Learning Management System (http://practiceinnovations.org/Learning-Community-Login).

The Consumer and Family Portal lists and provides information for providers, consumers and their families.

OnTrackUSA provides manuals and other web-based resources as well as consultation and training to programs and State agencies that would like to implement Coordinated Specialty Care teams (CSCs) for people with early psychosis. CSC teams provide innovative, evidence-based, recovery-oriented treatment to young people who have recently begun experiencing psychotic symptoms. These teams help people achieve their goals for school, work and relationships.
