31 Mar 2020 ACT: Substance Use Specialist Clinical Care Call 3/31/2020 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This monthly call for Substance Use Specialists and Team Leaders will provide a forum for providers to share their experiences working with individuals in dual recovery from substance use and mental health challenges. The call will feature case presentations and discussion, tool sharing (via the Adobe room), and opportunities to share successes and ask questions. In addition, we will cover pertinent topics including engagement, stage-wise interventions and language.

Information about the call will be sent out to invitees in advance of each call.

Time: 10 AM - 3:00 PM

The ACT Institute prioritizes the health and safety of those we serve. In order to adhere to recommendation of avoiding in person large gatherings, we will host the next ACT Person-Centered Treatment Planning training online in the Adobe Room.

 

The ACT Person-Centered Treatment Planning virtual training on Friday, April 3rd schedule will go as follows:

 

  • SESSION 1: 10 AM – 12PM
  • LUNCH BREAK: 12 PM – 1 PM
  • SESSION 2: 1 PM – 3 PM

 

**PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS OF THE ONLINE TRAINING ON THE SAME DAY TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THE TRAINING**

 

Prerequisite:

ACT Promoting Recovery through Mobile, Team-based Approach: Online Course

ACT: Engaging Consumers in Assertive Community Treatment

 

How to Register: New staff members must register themselves within the Center for Practice Innovation's Learning Community in order to sign up for training. Team Leaders should forward the self-registration link and instructions they received to all staff requiring training. The link you received is unique to your team and will need to be used to register new hires for ACT training. ACT Team Leader Support Call

Pascale Jean-Noel, Director of Training, will host a Team Leader Support Call which will be held on the first Monday of each month (exceptions will be announced). This call time will be an open forum for team leaders and/or Program Assistants to ask questions or raise concerns relevant to the team leader role on ACT. 

Questions and discussions can include: 

  • Team training
  • Community visits
  • Treatment plans
  • Transition
  • Administrative issues
  • Accessing the LMS

This call will be held in the Adobe Room, and joining information will be distributed prior to each call.

The ACT Institute is very happy to announce a 3-part webinar on engaging and working with individuals diagnosed with Personality Disorders.  Based on numerous conversations with our NYS team leaders on challenges encountered with people diagnosed with these experiences, the ACT Institute reached out to one of our experts, Dr. Beth Brodsky, for some guidance and support on the topic.  Beth Brodsky and Luis Lopez will review difficulties experienced by individuals and providers, challenging behaviors identified by team members, and issues related to stigma.  Also, they will discuss the relationship between PD’s and trauma and traumatic events. The webinars are scheduled for:

Thursday, May 28th

 

All webinars will start at 11 AM – 12 PM
An email invitation sent a week prior to the webinar will include information on how to join the webinar.
