The webinar is a one- hour, interactive training in which a case vignette example will be used to guide review and identification of seven categories of risk; different types of risk factors including proximal, distal, and modifiable risk factors; protective factors; and two foreseeable changes. The impact of cultural factors on suicide risk assessment including understanding cultural attitudes toward mental health treatment and risk factors for suicide will be discussed. The webinar will provide instruction on how to prioritize risk and protective factors and develop a risk profile, assign a risk level, make triage decisions, and develop a treatment plan. Finally, the webinar will conclude with a discussion of how risk formulation can aid in documentation and a summary of the training.
